Psycotherapy for Couples
Who Would Benefit from Couples Therapy?
Couples therapy is for any two people in any type of committed relationship who want to improve their connection, communication, and overall sense of partnership. You may feel like you’re no longer on the same team and want to return to each other to face life’s challenges together. Maybe you find yourselves stuck in the same arguments or patterns over and over again, or you struggle with constant communication breakdowns and feel distant, unheard, or misunderstood. Whether you're in crisis or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, couples therapy can help you reconnect and set shared goals for a more harmonious and fulfilling partnership.
What Can We Work On In Therapy?
In our work together, we’ll focus on learning how to communicate more effectively and compassionately, especially during conflict. We’ll explore how to understand and respond to each other’s emotional needs, and how to navigate recurring or “perpetual” problems in a way that fosters respect and mutual understanding, rather than defensiveness or withdrawal. Drawing on my Level 1 Training in the Gottman Method, I integrate evidence-based techniques such as:
♡ Building and maintaining Love Maps (deep knowledge of your partner’s inner world)
♡ Strengthening fondness and admiration
♡ Turning toward each other instead of away during small and large moments
♡ Managing conflict through soft startups and repair attempts
♡ Creating shared meaning and rituals of connection
These tools can help couples return to a foundation of curiosity, connection, and playfulness, and rebuild emotional safety and trust. Together, we’ll create a space to better understand each other, shift out of old dynamics, and develop the skills needed to support a resilient, emotionally connected relationship. If you and your partner are ready to reconnect and grow together, I invite you to reach out.
